Tension in Ukraine reaches highest level since 2014 – UN

The UN believes that the current situation in Ukraine is extremely dangerous.

The United Nations (UN) believes that tensions in Ukraine against the background of the escalation of the conflict from the Russian Federation have reached their maximum level since 2014.

This was stated by UN Deputy Secretary General Rosemary DiCarlo during her speech at the UN Security Council.

She expressed concern about the aggravation in the JFO zone and called on all parties in the Donbas to show restraint.

“Today, tensions in and around Ukraine have reached their highest level since 2014. There are frequent and thick statements about a possible military conflict. Whatever we think about the prospects for such a confrontation, the reality is that the current situation is dangerous in the region. We also call on all parties abandon unilateral decisions that undermine the Minsk agreements, in particular, regarding the status of ORDLO,” she said.

Recall that the situation in the JFO area remains turbulent. Since the morning of February 17, the Russian occupation troops have been making weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements. In particular, they fired at a kindergarten in Stanytsia Luhanska, a lyceum, and a railway. As a result, Ukrainian soldiers and civilians were wounded .
