Russian tennis player Aslan Karatsev was stronger than Briton Andy Murray in the final of the ATP Sydney Tennis Classic series tournament. This is reported by the correspondent of “Lenta.ru”.
The 28-year-old Russian beat Murray 6-3, 5-3. The match lasted one hour and 30 minutes. For Karatsev, the trophy was the first of the year.
The Sydney Tennis Classic was held on the eve of the Australian Open. The tournament lasted from 10 to 15 January. Its prize fund amounted to 521 thousand dollars.
At the Tokyo Olympics, Karatsev won silver in the mixed doubles. The Russian played in tandem with Elena Vesnina. At the Grand Slam tournament, the highest achievement of a tennis player is the semi-finals of the Australian Open in 2021.
