The USA adopted a temporary budget, but without funds to support Ukraine.
The US House of Representatives approved a temporary budget, but it does not provide funds to support Ukraine. Foreign Ministry Speaker Oleg Nikolenko commented on whether this would affect aid to Ukraine.
He wrote about this on Facebook.
So, according to him, such a decision with the temporary US budget will not stop the flow of aid to Ukraine, which was announced earlier. Now this is about $1.6 billion for defense and $1.23 billion in direct budget support, as well as funds for humanitarian and energy projects.
“Instead, a shutdown of the American government could have a negative impact on the implementation of current programs for Ukraine. Now the Ukrainian authorities are actively working with their American partners so that the new US budget decision, which will be worked out over the next 45 days, includes new funds to help Ukraine. Do not forget that domestic political discussions related to the American political process. Support for Ukraine remains unshakable both in the US Administration and in both parties and chambers of the US Congress, and most importantly – among the American people,” the Foreign Ministry representative emphasized.
Recall that Joe Biden said, that American support for Ukraine cannot be interrupted under any circumstancescommenting on the project of temporary government funding.
