Tehran open to peace initiatives in Lebanon if attacks on Gaza stop.

Iran open to ceasefire in Lebanon if Israel stops bombing Gaza, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas says Araghchi.

Politico writes about this.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made this statement during a visit to Beirut.

“Tehran is open to supporting efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Lebanon if Israel stops its bombing of Gaza,” Abbas Araghchi said during his visit to Beirut. This was the first visit of a senior Iranian official to Lebanon since the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Araghchi stressed the importance of diplomatic efforts to support Lebanon and the region in confronting Israeli aggression. Iran's leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, also expressed his opinion on the legality of Iran's ballistic missile attacks on Israel, claiming that this is a response to Tel Aviv's actions.

This statement came amid increased Israeli airstrikes against Hezbollah, which is creating a tense situation in the region and increasing the risk of further escalation of the conflict.

Recall that the BILD publication reported that Iranian tankers left the area near Kharg Island and entered international waters due to the threat of an Israeli strike on Iran's largest oil terminal, which followed a massive strike from Tehran.

BILD also reported that US presidential candidate Donald Trump called on Israel to strike Iran's nuclear facilities in in case of aggression. He also criticized Joe Biden for his soft stance on Iran.
