The St. Petersburg authorities will help the St. Petersburg Maritime Technical University in the creation of the Primorskaya Dolina technopark. Work is already underway on a project roadmap.

This was announced by the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, at a visiting meeting of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev with the heads of state authorities and organizations. Among other issues, its participants discussed improving the quality of personnel training for shipbuilding enterprises and the Navy.

According to Beglov, Primorskaya Dolina will have laboratories and experimental enterprises. The main production is planned to be set up in the city of Primorsk, Leningrad Region. The educational and scientific base of the university is already located there.

The Governor also noted the joint project of the city and the university to create specialized technical classes in schools. He added that five partner schools of the Maritime Technical University will receive grants as part of the competition held by Smolny. The results of this competition were summed up the day before at the City Teachers' Council.

On behalf of President Vladimir Putin, a Student Yacht Club is being created on Petrovskaya Spit. Its founders are the Maritime Technical University, Lesgaft University and the Yacht Club of Trade Unions. Students can study there for free.

The creation of the Primorskaya Dolina technopark became known in May 2021. It was assumed that the scientific and technical park will be engaged in the development and implementation of technologies for the development of the shelf in the Arctic. At the direction of the president, the Maritime University was supposed to submit an application for the creation of the ITC to the government in September. Part of the Primorskaya Dolina subdivisions will be located in St. Petersburg.

The rector of the Maritime University Gleb Turichin then said that more than 30 Russian companies had already expressed their desire to become residents of the INTC. Among them he named Gazprom, Gazprom Neft, Okeanpribor and Aurora concerns, NIPK Electron, and a number of small innovative enterprises.
