The Ukrainian embassy responded to the incident.

The Slovenian TV channel RTV Slovenija showed on the air during one of the TV shows a map with the “Russian” Crimea.

The media explained this as a technical error, the Ukrainian embassy in Slovenia said in a statement.

“On Tuesday, the Slovenian channel RTV Slovenija, in its program about Ukraine, used a map of Ukraine without Crimea. The Embassy immediately responded to this situation by sending an official appeal to the editors of the channel,” the statement says.

It is noted that the very next day, February 17, the channel officially apologized. The situation was called a technical error. RTV Slovenija emphasized that they were not going to show disrespect to Ukraine.

“Ukraine is subjected to massive information propaganda and fake news from Russia. At such a time, it is especially important that all our partners comply with the norms of international law and their position on non-recognition of the illegal occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation. The same applies to journalists of foreign journalistic ethics and objective coverage of information,” the embassy said.

As reported, in the fall of 2021, Ukraine managed to bring its political map of the world used in the Apple Music for Artists app for artists into line with international law. In the application from Apple , the map was corrected, where the Crimean peninsula turned out to be part of Russia.
