Tanzanian President John Magufuli, who previously called on citizens to be treated with prayers, was himself infected with COVID-19. Writes about this Financial Times.

According to RIA Novosti, citing local media, he is in Kenya on treatment for COVID-19. At the same time, he previously stated that there is no coronavirus in the country.
Earlier in February, Tanzanian President John Magufuli urged people to pray for three days to heal diseases. “I ask Tanzanians once again in a situation of discord to continue praying to God … Three days in prayer and fasting, and I am sure that we will win,” Magufuli said, but did not speak directly about the coronavirus pandemic.
Tanzania has not reported coronavirus morbidity and mortality data since May 2020, according to the World Health Organization. In total, 509 infections and 21 deaths were detected in the country.
