Militants of the radical Taliban movement (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) have tightened bans on travel alone for Afghan women. It is reported by BBC News.

According to the newspaper, the Taliban banned women from traveling long distances without being accompanied by a male relative. It is specified that the corresponding document refers to a distance of more than 72 kilometers. The militants also called on vehicle owners and taxi drivers to deny services to women if they are not wearing the hijab.

On December 23, it was reported that in the Mukur district of Afghanistan's Ghazni province, the Taliban banned doctors from providing care to sick women who, instead of a male relative, were escorted to the hospital by a female relative. The militants' statement emphasizes the illegality and immorality of women applying to medical institutions in an arbitrary manner, unaccompanied by men.
