Capturing a narrow 60 km long bridgehead on the left bank of the Kherson region is not the ultimate goal of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ operation, since simply holding and standing there for some time is very risky.
This opinion was expressed by the head of the Center for Military Legal Research , Alexander Musienko, during the Unified News telethon.
— There are actually two goals, because they are interconnected. To push back the enemy means to reduce the radius of action of enemy artillery, although, unfortunately, there are still KABs, drones, missiles, etc. And secondly, this is an attempt to conduct a flank operation, to go behind the rear of the enemy group. And in this sense, this is a continuation of offensive actions,” the expert said, answering a question from ICTV presenter Vadim Karpyak.

According to him, this was confirmed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, who, speaking with his American counterpart General Brown, said that Ukrainian forces were carrying out offensive actions. There is also confirmation from Ermak, and Zelensky said this.
“That is, it is clear that the movement continues… Our success on the Left Bank would change a lot at the front… In the next 1-2 months, it will not be the fate of the war that will be decided, but what nature it will have – will it go exclusively positional, or will it retain maneuverability,” Musienko believes .
The day before, the head of the Presidential Office, Andrei Ermak, announced the recapture of the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper. According to him, 70% of the distance has already been covered and the counter-offensive continues.
