Taj Mahal cordoned off due to bomb threat in India
In India, about a thousand tourists have been evacuated from the Taj Mahal due to the threat of an explosion, the Hindustan Times writes.
As noted, law enforcement agencies carried out an urgent evacuation after an unidentified man called and told about the mining of the complex in Agra (Uttar Pradesh state).
The police promptly cordoned off the facility. Cynologists with dogs arrived at the scene.
Later, the Taj Mahal mausoleum complex reopened to tourists. Sappers and
other police units conducted a thorough search of the territory and did not find any suspicious objects, law enforcement officials told reporters.
We will remind, in September 2020, the Taj Mahal mausoleum received the first tourists after the quarantine. The attraction has been closed since mid-March. It was never closed for such a long time.
