According to intelligence, during recruitment, Syrian militants are promised that they will perform functions police in the occupied territories of Ukraine. Other mercenaries are considering being sent to Russia and Belarus as a chance of desertion and illegal migration to the EU countries.

According to Ukrainian military intelligence, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad promised to provide Russia for the war in Ukraine 40 thousand militants. In the near future, the Russian Federation plans to move weapons, military equipment and other resources from Syria to Belarus and its territories to support the Russian occupation forces.

This was reported today, March 17, by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“The command of the Russian military base Khmeimim received an order to send up to 300 militants to Ukraine daily. March 15, for participation in hostilities against Ukraine, 150 mercenaries were sent to Russia from the Khmeimim military base (SAR) to Russia“, the message says.

During the recruitment mercenaries are promised that they will only perform police functionsto restore order in the occupied territories. But recently, according to intelligence, information about direct participation in hostilities against the Ukrainian army began to spread among the mercenaries. This significantly lowered the “morale” of the Syrians.

In addition, more than 30 militants who were wounded in battles with the Ukrainian military arrived recently at the Khmeimim military base from Russia. This had a negative impact on the moral and psychological state of other mercenaries and led to the refusal of some of them to participate in hostilities, intelligence says.

Among the Syrian militants, there were even cases of self-mutilation. Some of the mercenaries are considering sending to Russia and Belarus as a chance for further desertion and illegal migration to EU countries“, informs the GUR.

Recall, military expert Oleg Zhdanov believes that militants from Syria do not threaten the Armed Forces of Ukraine because they do not know how to fight in the conditions that are now in Ukraine.
