The previous promises of the Syrian authorities about the systematic supply of mercenaries for the Russian army are not being fulfilled.

According to the information of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, on March 22, a meeting was held between the commander of the 8th brigade in the southern Syrian province of Dera, Colonel Naseem Abu Irra, and General of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Alexander Zhuravlev, who is the commander of the Russian group in the southern provinces of Xi .

During the meeting, the Russian general demanded to generate and provide a list of names and personal information of militants from Abu Irra units and the Syrian Defense Forces who are ready to participate in the war against Ukraine.

Syrian colonel did not give a clear answer. But he promised to get in touch after consultations “with other representatives of the leadership of the 8th brigade.”

To date, the preliminary promises of the Syrian authorities on the systematic supply of mercenaries for the Russian army are not being fulfilled. The promised “easy walk” was changed by reports of stubborn fighting and high losses of Russians. Most of the Syrian military is not ready to risk their lives for a phantom monetary allowance.

It is known that Russian operatives are also trying to negotiate the recruitment of mercenaries from the 16th brigade of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Recall, military expert Oleg Zhdanov believes that militants from Syria do not threaten the Armed Forces of Ukraine, because they do not know how to fight in the conditions that are now in Ukraine.
