The events around Ukraine are the restoration of balance in the world, lost after the collapse of the USSR. This was stated by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, TASS reports.
The head of state stressed that Russia has the right to oppose NATO expansion. He considered the North Atlantic Alliance a global threat to international security.
Earlier it became known that Assad supported the Russian military operation in the Donbass. He also condemned the destabilizing policies of the US and NATO, which, according to him, led to a serious degradation of the situation in the Middle East as well.
