Initiatives submitted to the referendum concerned the ban on synthetic pesticides. The outcome of a general vote on a new law that will lead to higher fuel prices is still unclear.

In Switzerland, voters in a referendum on Sunday, June 13, rejected two initiatives to protect the environment – this conclusion can be drawn from the predictions released by Swiss television in a poll conducted by the sociological institute gfs-bern.
The first was to eliminate subsidies for farmers who use non-naturally occurring pesticides, the second was to completely ban synthetic pesticides, which would make Switzerland a 100% bio-producer.
The outcome of the referendum on a new law on carbon dioxide emissions is still unclear. The law provides for a halving of CO2 emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. This will lead to higher gasoline and diesel prices. For air passengers, there is a climate tax of 120 francs (110 euros) per flight.
