"Russia must be involved", the Swiss Foreign Ministry is convinced.
Switzerland did not invite Russia to participate in the Peace Summit on June 15-16, but remains convinced that the Russian Federation needs to be involved in the peace process.
This is stated in the response of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs to a request from ZN.UA.
Russia is not invited at this stage. Switzerland has always demonstrated openness to inviting Russia to this summit. However, Russia has repeatedly stated, including publicly, that it is not interested in participating in this first summit. The summit in Switzerland aims to initiate a peace process. Switzerland is convinced that Russia should be involved in this process,” says the response from the Swiss Foreign Ministry.
Recall, German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz does not expect that a breakthrough will be achieved at the peace conference on Ukraine, which will be held in Switzerland in June in stopping the Russian invasion.
