Switzerland has begun work on organizing a meeting of representatives of Russia and Ukraine in Geneva. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the air of the Swiss television and radio company RTS.
RTS correspondent Thierry Clemence said on air without reference to official information that Swiss President Ignazio Cassis is working on organizing a Russia-Ukraine meeting on Tuesday (March 1).
At the same time, the Permanent Mission of Russia to the Geneva branch of the UN did not confirm or deny this statement, citing the lack of official information about this.
Earlier, on February 27, a Russian delegation headed by Vladimir Medinsky arrived in Belarusian Gomel for talks with Ukraine. The delegation included Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Alexander Fomin, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Andrei Rudenko, head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, and Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov.
