Police detained a 62-year-old SUV driver who tried to escape after the collision.
An SUV crashed into a crowd at a sports center in the Chinese city of Zhuhai, killing 35 people and injuring more than 40 others injured.
This was reported by the Chinese media outlet Caixin.
Among the injured were many middle-aged and elderly people, as well as children and teenagers. The open-air sports center, where locals often trained, was temporarily closed. The police detained the 62-year-old driver of the SUV, who tried to escape, and took him into custody.

Photos and videos from the scene of the accident show dozens of people in sportswear lying on running tracks and playgrounds. Shoes are scattered around.
The tragedy occurred on the eve of a major Chinese air show, which will be held in Zhuhai from November 12 to 17 and will include both civilian and military aircraft.
Recall that in the west of Nepal, in the Surkhet region, a passenger bus fell from a height of 150 meters. The accident left four people dead and 30 injured.
