The darts world mourns Kyle Anderson . The Australian died at the age of only 33. This was confirmed by the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) on Tuesday. The cause of death is not yet known.
“Our condolences go to Kyle's family and friends, especially his wife and children, during these terribly difficult hours. He was a popular player on the tour and his talent and dedication made him an inspiration to other players around the world,” said PDC – President Barry Hearn .
Anderson celebrated his greatest success in 2017 when he won the Auckland Darts Masters in New Zealand. In 2018 he also reached the semifinals of the World Cup of Darts for Australia with compatriot Simon Whitlock.
In addition, Anderson took part in seven world championships, his best performance was moving into the third round. Most recently, he returned to his home country due to the corona pandemic and also handed in the tour card at the beginning of 2021. Numerous darts star mourn the 33-year-old, including Whitlock, but also Gary Anderson and Michael Van Gerwen .
