Shahid soldiers will be used for special operations.
Taliban representative Zabiullah Mujahid announced the creation of a special suicide battalion, which will become part of the future army of Afghanistan.
His statement is reported by The Khaama Press.
According to a Taliban spokesman, the battalion will be used for special operations.
Zabiullah Mujahid also said that the process of creating a new Afghan army is still ongoing. He noted that former Afghan officers can become members of the future armed forces. He also suggested that women can be recruited to serve in the army, if necessary.
Earlier, the Afghan Ministry of Defense reported that the Afghan army is 80% full. In general, 100 thousand military and civilians will serve in the armed forces.
Recall that after the seizure of power in Afghanistan, the radical Islamist movement “Taliban” called suicide bombers “heroes of Islam”, promising to reward their families with money and land .
