Diesel submarine “Magadan” has returned from the stage of state tests, according to the shipyard.

Now the third submarine of the series for the Pacific Fleet will undergo revision and finishing.

Magadan successfully completed deep-sea diving, and the company's specialists checked the operation of all ship devices, mechanisms and equipment, including hydroacoustic and navigation systems, the Admiralty Shipyards reported.

Magadan was laid down at the Admiralty shipyards on November 1, 2019 for the Pacific Fleet. On March 26, 2021, the submarine was launched. The ship readiness degree was estimated at 91%. In May, she passed mooring tests. On June 27, the submarine went to sea trials. State tests of the vessel started on August 16.

The contract for the construction of the 636.3 series was signed in September 2016. In March, specialists from the Admiralty Shipyards began mooring tests of the Volkhov submarine, the second in the series. The first ship, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, was delivered to the customer in December 2019.

The fifth and sixth submarines of the Mozhaisk and Yakutsk series were laid down at the enterprise with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin on August 23, 2021. Now on the fourth submarine of the Pacific series “Ufa”, a light hull is being formed, pipe and electrical work, and an acoustic coating is being installed.

The construction of the first six diesel-electric submarines of Project 636.3 for the Russian Black Sea Fleet was completed in 2016. These submarines took part in a military operation in Syria – they struck with cruise missiles at militants from the Mediterranean Sea. Project 636.3 submarines are equipped with Caliber cruise missiles.
