In the capital of the Czech Republic, only the part of the street where the Russian diplomatic mission is located was renamed.

The Russian Embassy in Prague is now located on the street of Ukrainian Heroes. The corresponding sign was solemnly mounted on Friday, April 22, on a small section of Korunovichnaya Street, which was officially renamed for this purpose.

This was reported at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, publishing the corresponding photos.

A month after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the city council of Prague decided to rename the part of the street where the Russian embassy is located.

Renaming the street section did not cause any trouble to the residents of Prague.

” In this area, there is not a single individual who would have to change an identification card, and there is also not a single legal entity, except for the Russian Federation,” said Yan Chabr, a city council deputy.

To the Russian Embassy, so that there are no problems with mail, you will have to use the new street name. In addition, as an address, the embassy can indicate the neighboring square, named after the Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, who was killed in Moscow.

The deputies also approved the assignment of the name of the hero of the Ukrainian war Vitaly Skakun, who died on February 24, to the neighboring bridge in the Ukrainian city of Kherson, where he blew up a bridge to prevent the advance of Russian troops. Now the bridge connects Korunovichnaya Street with the new Heroes of Ukraine Street.

Recall that in the Czech Republic, public approval of Russia's war against Ukraine faces criminal liability.
