The company advertises its mask production, ex-politician and mask compulsory critic Strache doesn't want to know anything about it
Heinz Christian Strache, ex-FPÖ boss and critic of a mask requirement in Corona times, is involved in a company in Serbia that produces nonwovens for precisely such masks. After the Kronen Zeitung reported about it, he confirmed his participation via social media, but denied that the company made masks itself.
In view of the Krone article, in which Strache was involved in the “mask business”, he spoke of deliberately spread untruths. “In Serbia, Aurum-Tex, where I am a partner, is developing a high-quality melt-blown (filter fleece) for industry and no masks are being produced there,” he emphasized.
According to Strache, this product is needed for various branches of industry, and it is good if there is high-quality production in Europe so that Europe is not dependent on imports from China. A look at the company website (http://go.apa.at/AmfmIaRo) shows, however: Aurum-Tex itself explicitly promotes the use of its products for mouth-nose protection and KN95 masks (equivalent to FP2).
Strache received support from his party general secretary Christian Höbart. “If you think that you have to look at private-sector commitments with a magnifying glass and operate with untruths … then in all clarity: 'Get your hands on the Heisa'! Period. End. Terrain.”, He posted under Strache's contribution.
