Honored military pilot of the Russian Federation, Air Force Colonel Gennady Stern, who after his retirement lives and works in Cherkasy, appealed to his Russian colleagues with an appeal to immediately stop the bombing of peaceful cities and villages in Ukraine.
– At this special time, I appeal to the pilots of the front-line aviation of the Russian Air Force! I grew up in Cherkasy, from here I went to aviation. It hurts to look at the beautiful Ukrainian land bombarded with bombs and rockets, which in April of this year should be plowed and sown, not destroyed.
We flew in the same sky, on the same planes, from the same airfields, we were friends, I brought up two commanders in the Ukrainian Air Force of the western direction: Major General Oleksiy Stanislavovich Marchenko and the eastern one – Colonel Valentin Antonovich Listopad. These are wonderful, famous people and pilots, one can be proud of their names.
Ukrainian infrastructure, Ukrainian military personnel, Ukrainian beautiful cities, peaceful Ukrainian population should not be in the sights of your aircraft, stop bombing and shelling Ukrainian territory from the air,” he said in a video message.
Stern expressed the hope that all aviation veterans would support him.
