All countries have the right to choose their own path without outside interference, said Jens Stoltenberg.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that only the aggressor country Russia and the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, are responsible for the war in Ukraine.

Thus, Stoltenberg commented on the statement Pope that Putin was “possibly provoked” to invade, writes the Guardian.

“NATO is a defense alliance, and the war in Ukraine is President Putin's war,” he said.

Stoltenberg stressed that NATO has been supporting an independent sovereign state in Europe – Ukraine for many years.

“This does not threaten anyone. This is not a provocation. And this is what we will do go further. It is President Putin and Moscow who are responsible for this brutal aggression against Ukraine,” he said.

The Secretary General also noted that “all countries have the right to choose their path without outside interference,” and NATO is planning a comprehensive assistance package for Ukraine.

Recall that Stoltenberg said that Ukraine should receive more heavy weapons and this issue will be discussed in the format of the Ramstein Contact Group on June 15.
