Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk held a meeting with the head of the Congress of Deputies of Spain Francina Armengol, during which they discussed the possibility of providing Ukraine with the complex Patriot.
He wrote about this on his page in Facebook.
Stefanchuk thanked Spain for its consistent support of Ukraine from the first days of the full-scale invasion.
“Our country appreciates all decisions that allow us to strengthen the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in particular, the recent decision to supply missiles for the Patriot system,” he noted.
In addition, he informed Armengol about the consequences of Russian terrorist strikes.
“It is important to provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems. I hope that Spain will positively consider the issue of transferring one Patriot complex to us. I also hope that the voice of the Spanish Parliament will be loud in the issue of supporting Ukraine's membership in NATO,” the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada wrote.
He added that during the meeting the parties discussed the implementation of a joint project with the Spanish Parliament on restoration.
Recall that earlier it was reported that Germany announced a new military aid package for Ukraine, which will include the Patriot system.
