State Duma deputy, chairman of the Just Russia – Patriots – For Truth party Sergei Mironov called for the abolition of the funded pension system. He expressed the opinion of RIA Novosti.

He noted that the criteria for calculating pensions should be based on real economic indicators.

“I have seen these messages, but not the bill. But something tells me that the Ministry of Finance, which is preparing the document, will not come up with anything really useful for Russian pensioners,” Mironov said.

According to the deputy, the main criteria guaranteeing a fair amount of pensions are length of service, salary and special working conditions.

Earlier, Izvestia reported that the bill on the reform of funded pensions is planned to be adopted in 2022. According to the document, the funded part of compulsory pension insurance (OPS), which has been frozen since 2014, is being transformed into non-state pension provision (NPO).

In December 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law extending the freeze on the funded part of pensions until 2024. The funded pension has been frozen since 2014, that is, contributions to the funded part of the pension in the amount of 6 percent of wages are directed to the insurance part for payments to current pensioners.
