The US State Department called on Americans to leave Belarus immediately due to “a worrying Russian military buildup along Belarus' border with Ukraine.” This was reported on the website of the State Department.

The department noted that citizens of the United States must immediately leave Belarus by commercial or private means.

Among the reasons why the State Department does not recommend entering Belarus, the risk of detention and the coronavirus pandemic are also indicated. In addition, the Americans were advised to refrain from traveling to Moldova.

Earlier, US President Joe Biden declared February 16 the day of the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine. He named this date during negotiations with the leaders of Western countries, the European Union and NATO. Against this background, about 20 countries recommended their citizens to leave the territory of Ukraine due to fears of a military conflict.
