US State Department spokesman Ned Price confirmed the date of the Russian-US security talks, which will take place on January 10. His words are reported by RIA Novosti.
“When we sit down at the negotiating table, we will, of course, put our concerns on it. I think the Russians will do the same, ”the State Department spokesman said he hoped. According to him, the United States does not intend to discuss issues of allies and partners without their presence. “There will be areas where we can make progress and I am sure areas where we disagree. This is the essence of diplomacy, ”he added.
At the same time, Price stressed that open channels of diplomacy have constructive potential. In particular, this concerns the de-escalation of the conflict in and around Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin at an annual press conference demanded an immediate response from the United States and NATO on security guarantees. The Russian leader said that it is not the course of negotiations on this issue that is important to Moscow, but their result. The further development of the situation in the international arena will depend on this, he said.
