The State Commission has approved the composition of the main and backup crews of the Soyuz MS-19 manned spacecraft, which will leave for the ISS on October 5, Roskosmos reports.

Roscosmos cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, actress Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko have been approved for the prime crew. The backup crew includes cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev, cameraman Alexei Dudin and actress Alena Mordovina.

The readiness of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle and ground infrastructure for the upcoming launch was confirmed.

On March 14, the head of the Glavkosmos company (part of Roscosmos) Dmitry Loskutov said that the shooting of the film on the ISS would be financed by Channel One, and budget money would not be spent on them.

According to him, part of the work will be financed by Glavkosmos, but at the expense of funds received from commercial activities.

The launch of the Soyuz MS-19 spacecraft is scheduled for October 5. The film crew of the “Challenge” project is to arrive at the station on it – they will start filming the first feature film in space. According to Roskosmos, the crew will return to Earth on October 17.

Currently, the ISS crew consists of Roskosmos cosmonauts Oleg Novitsky, Pyotr Dubrov and NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hai, who arrived on the ISS on April 9 on the Soyuz MS-18 spacecraft, and also arrived on the ISS on the Crew Dragon-2 spacecraft on April 24 NASA astronauts Megan MacArthur and Shane Kimbrough; European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Thomas Pesce; and JAXA astronaut Akihiko Hoshide.
