Sputnik V Russian vaccine approved in Mexico

The Mexican Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Coferpis) has approved the Russian vaccine against the Sputnik V coronavirus. This is reported by TASS with reference to the Deputy Minister of Health of Mexico, Hugo Lopez-Gatella.

The department issued a permit for the emergency use of the drug from COVID-19 in the country. According to Lopez-Gatell, this created an opportunity for vaccine import and use.

Sputnik V was developed by the Russian Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry and became the world's first officially registered vaccine against coronavirus. The vaccine has already been registered in Russia, Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Armenia, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, the Republic of Guinea and Tunisia.
