The Capitals lose to Laibach
The victory against the KAC is followed by the defeat against Laibach – the spusu Vienna Capitals lose at home to the Slovenes.
The fans of the Viennese ice hockey cracks were hoping for a turnaround after the good performance against KAC, but against Laibach they have their fourth defeat in the sixth game of the season at home. A goal by Magovac in the 21st minute decided the game in favor of the guests, who are at the top of the table with 13 points.
The caps, on the other hand, are penultimate. With six points on the account, the lead over Linz, the bottom group without a win, is four points. Above all, the aggressive fore-checking of the guests caused problems against Ljubljana. It was only towards the end of the first period that the Viennese found their game, which was brutally stifled by Laibach's 1-0.
Goalie Steen in particular kept the caps in the game with strong saves. In the final third, the Capitals pushed for the equalizer, Laibach remained dangerous on the counterattack. The capital club did not want to score a goal, at least the upward trend is interrupted.
In the next round, the Caps will make a guest appearance in Dornbirn on Friday (7.15 p.m.). The next home game is on October 15th against league newcomers Pustertal.
