Sports Minister Matytsin: 1.2 billion rubles were spent on preparing Russians for the 2022 Games

Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin spoke about the preparations for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. TASS reports.
He stressed that the process is at the final stage, and also named the amount spent on the preparation of Russian athletes for the Games. “During the four-year cycle, the athletes were provided with everything they needed in the amount of about 1.2 billion rubles,” said Matytsin.
The functionary also stressed that the Ministry of Sports drew the attention of the heads of federal training bases to the need to minimize the risks of athletes getting coronavirus. According to Matytsin, this issue is under control.
The Olympic Games in Beijing will be held from 4 to 20 February 2022. Russia, due to the sanctions of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), will compete in a neutral status.
