“Spider Music” was created for the first time

by alex

Scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology presented “spider music”. They transformed the vibrations of the web into melody.

The scientists created a 3D scan of the web and then converted the resulting structures into music. In fact, each spider strand was given its own frequency range depending on the length and tension. The result was “a monumental vibration of thousands of strings with the most unexpected effects.”

The researchers explained that spiders live surrounded by vibrating strings. They see poorly, therefore they feel their world through vibrations.

The music itself sounds a little confusing and messy. Scientists intend to use it to try to control the behavior of spiders. “Now we are trying to generate synthetic signals to speak the language of spiders,” the scientists noted.
