The Spanish authorities obliged citizens to wear a mask on the street, regardless of the distance between people. This is reported by El Pais, with reference to the published document.
“People aged six years and older should use masks <...> on public roads, in open spaces and in any enclosed public spaces,” the publication cites the text of the document
The new law is valid indefinitely. The publication clarifies that previously it was necessary to use a mask outdoors if the distance between people was less than 1.5 meters.
RTVE clarifies that the use of a mask will become mandatory on beaches and pools. People with respiratory diseases can not wear a mask, which can be aggravated by wearing a mask, people with disabilities who cannot take off and put on the mask on their own, as well as during individual outdoor sports.
Earlier, the Spanish authorities introduced a number of other restrictions on Holy Week, which will operate from March 26 to April 9. So, during this time, there will be a curfew in the period from 23:00 to 6:00, it is forbidden to gather in groups of more than four people in closed spaces, in the air this number is limited to six. It was also decided to restrict movement between regions. Autonomous Communities can introduce additional measures at their discretion.
According to the Spanish Ministry of Health, the country has confirmed 3.27 million cases of the disease, 75 thousand people have died. As of March 29, 1,564 new infections were detected per day.
