Spain's Minister for Equal Opportunities Irene Montero has called on regions to close brothels to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Reported by Reuters.
This must be done due to the fact that it is currently difficult to control all their contacts. It is known that Catalonia has already decided to close all such places due to the worsening situation with the epidemic. For example, in one brothel, all sex workers were infected.
Brothels in Spain are located in the so-called gray zone – they are not allowed, but not prohibited either.
Earlier it was reported that the Madrid Administrative Court overturned the decision of local authorities, according to which citizens were prohibited from smoking in public places due to the spread of the coronavirus. It was about a ban on smoking on open verandas of restaurants in the event that there is no safe distance between people. In addition to these restrictions, there were restrictions on the ability to eat in the metro, as well as the opening hours of bars (until 1 am) and the closure of nightlife.
In Spain, almost 378 thousand people have been infected since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. The authorities imposed a strict quarantine, which was later lifted. However, recently, due to the increase in the number of cases of the disease in various regions, restrictive measures are being introduced again. Thus, discos and night clubs were closed in the country last week.
