One day after the corona vaccination for EM players, Spain sent its substitute team back home on Saturday. The football association had assembled a 17-strong corona emergency squad after captain Sergio Busquets and Diego Llorente tested positive for the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
The substitute team should ensure that Spain would have been able to provide a team for the European Championship opening game against Sweden on Monday in Seville, even in the event of another corona outbreak.
Before the departure of the 17 substitutes, the EM squad had tested negative for the corona virus on three consecutive days. Llorente from Leeds United has been back in the squad since Friday after PCR tests were negative for four days in a row.
