On the basis of the Navantia company, tests of the combat system began, which would later become standard for the first submarine of the Spanish fleet. According to the source, the structure of the system includes sonars of short, medium and long range, installations with underwater anti-ship missiles and multipurpose mines, as well as torpedoes and a specialized communication system.
Reportedly, the first Spanish submarine S-80 will go to sea not earlier than 2023, and while the next stage of tests is underway. Submarines of this class will replace the old submarines in service – the “Galerna” type. The system under test, called Isaac Peral, is designed in such a way as to control all installed weapons, correlate goal-setting and transmit information over an integrated tactical data channel.
It is noted that it was the Navantia company that became the developer of an anaerobic installation for future submarines, with the help of which submarines will be able to spend much more time under water.
