SpaceX showed the tallest rocket in history Starship
SpaceX has assembled the tallest rocket in history, the Starship. Her photos were posted on the American company's Twitter page .
So, the length of the two-stage Starship, which includes Booster 4 (this is the prototype of the Super Heavy rocket stage) and Ship 20 (this in turn is the prototype of the Starship spacecraft), reaches almost 120 meters. The assembly of this rocket was carried out at the SpaceX cosmodrome in Boca Chica, which is located in Texas.
At the moment, Ship 20 has been removed from Booster 4. The company is going to conduct separate tests of these stages, and then joint tests. However, SpaceX does not rule out that a combination of Booster 4 and Ship 20 will make a joint flight, although this will require permission from the US Federal Aviation Administration.
On August 5, SpaceX also showed off its new Super Heavy single-stage rocket with 29 Raptor engines. Then the publication ArsTechnica noted that the thrust of the rocket of such a rocket is twice that of the Saturn V rocket, which was used to launch NASA astronauts to the moon.
In early May, it became known that SpaceX is going to launch a satellite to the Moon in 2022, which will be fully paid for with Dogecoin cryptocurrency. Doge-1 weighs 40 kilograms. The device will be launched into a circumlunar orbit, where it will collect data on the Moon using sensors and cameras.
