Moscow. October 19th. INTERFAX.RU – The American company SpaceX is going to launch another batch of Starlink Internet satellites into orbit on October 31, follows from the data of the specialized website Spaceflight Now.

The launch was previously scheduled to take place on October 17, but it was postponed for unknown reasons.

The launch of a heavy launch vehicle Falcon 9 with mini-satellites to replenish the orbital grouping of the global Internet coverage of the Starlink system is supposed to be carried out from the launch pad at the Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, instead of the cosmodrome at Cape Canaveral in Florida.

SpaceX has not yet officially announced a launch date. This will be the 32nd launch of a group of Internet satellites into orbit since May 2019 as part of the Starlink project. The previous launch took place on September 14th. The SpaceX orbital group already consists of 1,789 spacecraft.

The company is currently the largest satellite operator in the world.

In the future, SpaceX plans to deploy an orbital constellation of 12,000 spacecraft of this type (and subsequently 30,000) to create a full-scale network that will provide the inhabitants of the Earth with broadband Internet access anywhere in the world. The total investment in the project is estimated at $ 10 billion.
