The American company SpaceX has launched a Falcon 9 launch vehicle with 51 Starlink satellites into orbit. The company reports this on its Twitter.
“The successful launch of 51 Starlink satellites has been confirmed,” the company writes.
The launch vehicle was launched from the US Space Force base in Vandenberg, California.
The launch was made at 20:55 local time (06:55 Moscow time on September 14).
The first stage of the rocket has already landed on the floating platform Of Course I Still Love You.
Starlink is a global satellite system that will allow you to use high-speed Internet where access to it was difficult. Development of the project began in 2015, TINTIN test prototypes were successfully launched on February 22, 2018. SpaceX began providing Internet access to the US and Canada in 2020. In August 2021, the number of Starlink beta testers users reached 100,000 in 14 countries.
Recall that in February this year, SpaceX launched another group of 60 Starlink Internet satellites. Prior to this, the Falcon 9 rocket launched into orbit with 143 satellites on board.
