Virgin Galactic has decided to resume ticket sales for flights to suborbital space. The starting price for one seat is $ 450,000. By July, 600 people had already submitted applications for the purchase of tickets.
Ticket prices are reported in Virgin Galactic's second quarter 2021 financial statements. The press release says that it will be possible to purchase one ticket at a time or redeem several at once.
Unity 23's first tourist suborbital flight is scheduled for late September. The launch is expected from the America Cosmodrome in New Mexico.
In July, billionaire Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Galactic, flew the suborbital flight. Together with him on board were five people (two test pilots and three specialists). They spent almost an hour at an altitude of 86 km. After the flight, the company's shares are up more than 7%.
