The Soyuz-2 launch vehicle with 36 British communication satellites OneWeb was launched from the Vostochny cosmodrome. The launch is broadcast on the Roscosmos YouTube channel.
The rocket was launched at 05:47 Moscow time. Ten minutes later, at 05:57 Moscow time, the Fregat upper stage with satellites separated from the third stage of the rocket and entered a suborbital trajectory.
It is noted that this launch was the fifth this year. According to Dmitry Rogozin, General Director of Roscosmos, a total of 29 space launches are planned for 2021.
On March 22, a Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle with a Fregat upper stage and 38 satellites from 18 countries was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome. Initially, the launch was scheduled for Saturday, March 20, but it was postponed for two days. According to a RIA Novosti source, the reason was a voltage surge in the power supply system of the launch complex and the need to retest the rocket systems.
