Roskosmos announced the regular launch of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket with 34 communication satellites of the British OneWeb. Approximately nine minutes after the launch, the Fregat upper stage with satellites will separate from the third stage of the rocket. The launch of the vehicles by the upper stage will take about three and a half hours.
“The Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Fregat upper stage and a new batch of 34 OneWeb communication satellites on board was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome,” the state corporation said on Twitter.
On August 22, Roscosmos also delivered 34 OneWeb satellites into orbit. Now 288 satellites have been launched into orbit. After the current launch, the grouping will be brought up to 322 vehicles.
