The South Korean government has banned citizens of the country from visiting the territory of Ukraine and urged them to leave the country immediately.
This was announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea.
“In connection with the situation in Ukraine, the government decided to urgently raise the level of danger on trips to Ukraine to the 4th level (travel is prohibited). The requirement comes into force on February 13, ” the ministry said in a statement.
They explained that this was a preventive measure in preparation for a sudden deterioration in the situation in Ukraine. In addition, South Korean citizens were urged to immediately leave Ukraine on available flights.
The South Korean Foreign Ministry stressed that citizens who do not leave Ukraine could be prosecuted in accordance with applicable rules, such as the passport law.
Earlier, on February 11, Japan called on its citizens to leave Ukraine.
Recall, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that Russia could invade Ukraine at any time, even during the Winter Olympics.
