Due to an unknown object, the population of nearby territories was informed of a possible danger.
On Tuesday, December 27, several South Korean fighter jets were alerted to the highest level due to supposedly North Korean drones, but, in fact, it was a flock of birds.
This is reported by the South Korean TV channel KBS News.
The presenter of the TV channel said that military radars noticed an unknown object flying from North Korea near Ganghwa Island. The military claimed it was a North Korean drone, but it later turned out to be birds. Before that, through an unknown object, ground units were put on alert and informed the population of nearby territories of a possible danger.
“It was confirmed that it was not a North Korean drone, but a flock of birds. Even before After this ridiculous situation was resolved, a text message was sent to the residents of Ganghwa Island about an emergency disaster,” the host said.
Military tension between South and North Korea
There is an escalation between South and North Korea. On Dec. 26, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that North Korean drones crossed the Gimpo, Paju, and Ganghwa islands in Gyeonggi Province. Some of them reached populated areas. South Korea took off military planes, helicopters and fired warning shots.
Recall that North Korea, which is on the list of terrorist countries, tested two cruise missiles at an extreme range that can carry tactical nuclear weapons.
