The Tswane city district in South Africa has threatened to cut off the power supply to the headquarters of the National Defense Forces (SANDF) due to accumulated debts. This is reported by the South African newspaper The Times.

The debt exceeds three million rand (approximately 209 thousand dollars). Local authorities say they want to embark on an “aggressive recovery” of electricity or water debts totaling 17 million rand (more than $1.1 million). The editors of the newspaper requested a comment from the headquarters of the South African army, but have not yet received a response.

At the same time, several hours after the publication, representatives of the city administration said that the owner of the premises in which the headquarters of the National Defense Forces is located, paid all the debts. The relevant information was published on Twitter.
