Sony has planned a compact smartphone. It is reported by the Engadget edition with reference to the network insider OnLeaks.
The author said that the Japanese company intends to continue producing the Compact line phones. One of the new devices will be a model with a reduced 5.5-inch screen. According to journalists, this device will compete with the smallest Apple smartphone and may become the killer of the iPhone 12 mini.
It is known that the device will receive a dual camera with a main lens with a resolution of 13 megapixels and an 8 megapixel selfie camera; 3.5mm headphone jack and integrated fingerprint sensor in the side button. The rest of the specifications – processor model and memory data – are not disclosed. The device should be released in February and will go on sale in the spring.
The last device in the Sony series of miniature smartphones was the Xperia XZ2 Compact, released in the spring of 2018. For comparison: iPhone 12 mini has a 5.4-inch OLED screen, Apple A14 Bionic chip, 64 gigabytes of internal memory, a dual camera with a resolution of 12 megapixels, a 2227 milliampere-hour battery.
In December, The Verge named the iPhone 12 mini one of the top smartphones of 2020. The model was praised for its outstanding performance and compact design.
