His social commitment has earned the Manchester United player a lot of praise. But his coach wants to see more.
Marcus Rashford has received a lot of praise and recognition for his work off the pitch. The 23-year-old Manchester United attacker campaigned to fight child hunger and poverty in the UK during the coronavirus pandemic.
His association always showed understanding and support for this. But now coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said the unspoken. Rashford, who is apparently fit again after his shoulder operation after the European Championship and could play again today against Leicester City, should “prioritize his football” in the future.
“Marcus is the prime age for a footballer and he has a challenge ahead of him here at Manchester United – and at the same time he has the challenge of playing for England.” The striker has almost 300 appearances for United and has played 46 times for the English national team. Without a focus on football, he will not be successful, said the coach.
“Notable Things”
Marcus Rashford recently received an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester. A “great honor,” as the young Englishman said.
Even though Solskjaer advises him to focus on the job, the manager doesn't believe that Rashford's off-field activities have affected his on-field performance. “Marcus did some remarkable and fantastic things,” said the coach.
