Moscow. October 14. INTERFAX.RU – The Moscow metro on Friday will fully launch the fare payment system through the Face Pay face recognition system, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin.
“Now all Mosmetro passengers will be able to pay for travel without taking out their phone, Troika or bank card. The Face Pay system will work tomorrow at more than 240 stations,” Sobyanin wrote on his page on the VKontakte social network.
The mayor added that this service is contactless.
At the same time, other methods of paying for metro fares will be preserved.
According to the mayor, Moscow is the first in the world to introduce Face Pay on such a scale.
At the end of September, the Face Pay service was launched on all Moscow metro lines.
