Former employee of the US National Security Agency (NSA) Edward Snowden commented on the death of the creator of the popular McAfee antivirus, John McAfee. He spoke out on his Twitter page.

Snowden stressed that Europe should not extradite those accused of non-violent crimes to the United States. According to him, the American judicial system is so unfair and the prison system is so brutal that convicts are more likely to choose death. “Julian Assange could be next. Until the system is reformed, there should be a moratorium, ”he stressed.

Earlier it became known that the American and British programmer and businessman, the creator of the popular McAfee antivirus, John McAfee, was found dead in prison in Spain. According to a statement from the Catalan Ministry of Justice, McAfee could have committed suicide. Later it turned out that the businessman left a message in case of his death. “Know that if I hang myself like (Jeffrey) Epstein, it won't be my fault,” he noted.

McAfee was detained in Spain at the request of the United States last year. The kingdom's court approved his extradition to the United States. The American authorities believe that the 75-year-old businessman has evaded taxes by channeling his income to the accounts of dummies. He was held in a prison in Barcelona.

In May 2019, the US Department of Justice filed 17 charges against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. In particular, he is accused of violating the espionage law. If extradited to the United States, Assange faces up to 175 years in prison.

In 2013, Snowden handed over classified documents to reporters from The Guardian and The Washington Post related to the American intelligence services program to spy on both US citizens and residents of other countries. In the United States, he is charged with the illegal transfer of information of great importance to national security.
